Seasoned leadership team with deep propane industry experience

Energy Distribution Partners (EDP) has created a leadership team of propane industry veterans with a deep understanding of retail and commercial propane sales, operations and finance.

Thomas E. Knauff, Chief Executive OfficerThomas E. Knauff, Chief Executive Officer, brings 30-plus years of executive, operations and transaction experience in the industry. After beginning his career at Ferrellgas – where he helped integrate the $400 million leveraged buyout of Buckeye Gas Products – Mr. Knauff co-founded Propane Continental, making 34 acquisitions before selling to Cornerstone Propane in 1998. He then affiliated with a Chicago middle-market investment bank and continued his entrepreneurial focus in the energy industry. In 2003 he co-founded Liberty Propane, ran its operations during the start-up period and served on its board until 2009. In 2012, Mr. Knauff launched Chicago-based Energy Distribution Partners.

Marlo Young, Chief Operating OfficerMarlo Young, Chief Operating Officer, has more than 25 years of corporate and operating experience. He joined Ferrellgas in 1991 and later worked in leadership positions with Cornerstone Propane and Inergy Propane where he ultimately served as executive vice president for Midwest operations. In that role, Mr. Young had direct operational and executive responsibility for more than 250,000 customers, 100 service centers and $350 million in revenue. In 2012 he returned to the propane industry to launch Energy Distribution Partners. During his career Mr. Young has overseen more than $835 million in acquisitions.

Mark Janek, Chief Financial OfficerMark Janek, Chief Financial Officer, brings over 30 years of executive and financial experience to the company. A CPA with Big Four public accounting experience, he joined EDP in 2014 from Standard Parking/SP Plus Corp. where he was senior vice president of finance and assisted the company in integrating the acquisition of its largest competitor. Earlier Mr. Janek served as divisional CFO for Matson Logistics, assisting the company in substantially growing revenue both organically and through acquisitions. Over his career, he has assisted in acquiring and integrating companies that employed more than 10,000 people and generated nearly $1 billion in revenue.

Mark Zimora, Vice President of OperationsMark Zimora, Vice President of Operations, brings more than 25 years of executive and operational leadership experience uniquely spanning both public and family-owned propane businesses. He started his career with AmeriGas and later joined Blue Rhino as a fledgling company where he worked closely with its founder to grow the company into one of the most recognized brand names in the propane industry. Mr. Zimora later served as executive vice president of operations for Paraco Gas, then as chief operating office for Thompson Gas during a time of significant expansion. Prior to joining EDP, he served as a division president for Inergy Propane.

David R. Stroupe, Vice President of Corporate DevelopmentDavid R. Stroupe, Vice President of Corporate Development, has nearly 30 years of propane industry experience in a variety of senior level management, operations and business development positions. He began his propane career as vice president and chief operating officer with Green Mountain Propane and later worked in business development and operations positions for major marketers including Heritage Propane and AmeriGas Partners, successfully closing on more than 75 acquisitions. Mr. Stroupe most recently served as president of Yankee Propane.
